World's Youngest Fashion Designer sets world record by Duda Bündchen

World's Youngest Fashion Designer sets world record by Duda Bündchen

We know models are getting younger and younger, but the new girl making waves in the fashion world has really taken us by surprise.

Introducing five-year-old Duda Bündchen. If you feel like you've heard that surname before, it's because it usually follows the forename of arguably the most famous and the certified richest model in the world, Gisele, who is Duda's aunt.

Photo: Duda Bündchen, the World's Youngest Fashion Designer hard at work on her collaborative collection with Brandili Mundi.

For those prone to feeling inadequate about their life achievements so far, perhaps it's best not to read on, for Duda - who was last year named the 'face' of Brazilian children's wear label Brandili Mundi - has this year been signed up as a designer of her first solo collection too...

Designed and produced with eco-friendly materials 'Duda Bündchen for Brandili Mundi' is set to hit stores in July, and has apparently been 'overseen' by the fashion-conscious child from its inception.

The new fashionista is Duda Bunchen, niece to model Gisele Bundchen, who is only five years old.

Germano Costa, commercial and marketing director of Brandili Textil, told Forbes ''She told us about her preferences on prints, cuts and details, and based on the briefing we received from her we came up with a collaborative collection.

"She told us about her preferences on prints, cuts and details, and based on the briefing we received from her we came up with a collaborative collection. The pieces were all approved by Duda, whose romantic inspiration will no doubt catch girls' eyes," the company's commercial and marketing director Germano Costa told Forbes earlier this week.

Clearly comfortable with the glamorous modelling lifestyle already, the rather accomplished (and we'll admit super-cute) 5-year-old poseur can be seen twirling her way around a garden in her hometown of Porto Alegre in the collection's advertising campaign, which was created by a team of 30 photographers, stylists and make-up artists.

She Ping - Chinese Beekeeper break world record for covering his body with 33kg bees

She Ping - Chinese Beekeeper break world record for covering his body with 33kg bees

A Chinese beekeeper has attempted to break a world record by covering his body with more than 33kg bees

A chinese beekeeper donned a 73-pound coat of live bees on Wednesday in a daring record-breaking attempt.

Assistants helped cover She Ping with more than 331,000 bees, the Associated Press reported. The entire process took about one hour, and left only parts of Ping’s face exposed.

Chinese beekeeper She Ping covered with an estimated 331,000 honeybees, in an attempt to break the world record for such a practice.

They don't all swarm on him at once. In nightmare terms, it's worse than that. Mr She, an apiarist in the city of Chongqing, has a queen bee placed on his body, and then stands in a basin into which bees are poured; they climb up him to get to the queen, and the whole process takes about an hour. An hour! You'd have confessed to anything long since, wouldn't you?

Not that Mr She is completely the daredevil he might seem; look closely, and you can just see cotton wool buds protruding from his nostrils, to prevent occurrences of that complaint with which two-year-olds are taken to casualty with, "foreign-body-in-the-nose". And an assistant keeps bees away from his face with burning incense.

But otherwise he's completely covered, with 33.1 kilograms of bees, and he gets "a few" stings. He was doing it to break the previous record for a "bee mantle", as it is officially called, which Chinese media believed was set by a Jiangxi province beekeeper, Ruan Liangming, in 2008, with 26.8 kilos of bees about his person.

Alas, a check with the Guinness World Records website reveals the record is actually held by Vipin Seth from India, who was covered with 61.4 kilos of bees – 613,500 insects – on March 9 2009.

Back to the drawing board, Mr She. And don't forget your cotton wool buds.
